Dear fellow CIPD members,

I'm a HR professional seeking work in HR - full-time preferably - in Sydney. If anyone out there has any connections with AHRI (where I also hold membership) for your counterparts in Sydney can you please give me the contact details of anyone reputable that has a HR function currently with ful-time work. I recently wrote a good book on HR strategy if this helps with finding work in the field. If you want me to foward you a copy reply with your e-mail and I will send though ASAP.

Unfortunately I do not know of anyone directly recruiting. Quite a few great agencies that focus on HR roles,

David, I'm wishing you all the best in finding a full time role and I wonder if the following general tips could help.
* re-looking at your LinkedIn profile to ensure you can be found by the right companies, regular posting, showing what you can do and preferred work locations could all help as can ensuring you work on your network.
*following good people in HR in areas of interest and locations.
*networking in person and virtually with a focus on Australia, Sydney and HR.
*ask for good groups to join locally by reaching out to people specifically.
*approach companies directly with targetted expressions of interest
I'm sure you are already doing a lot of this and I hope it pays off in the end. Good luck.
