CIPD Student Members invited to join for free

I’m delighted to be chairing this year’s online CIPD Student Conference on Saturday 2 April, which CIPD Student Members are invited to attend for free. Whether you’re looking to start your career, or progress to the next level, this conference is designed to build your confidence and support your growth to make a positive impact on the future world of work.

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the world of work as we know it, having fast-tracked emerging issues that many organisations were only just beginning to address. These include remote and flexible working, mental health in the workplace and diversity.

Our popular Student Conference will address all of these workplace themes through a mix of learning sessions with industry experts who will share their inspiring professional experiences, case studies, and recommended learning resources.

Influential speakers

This year’s speaker line-up is fantastic, with a range of influential HR experts and business leaders from organisations such as Blood Cancer UK, Health Education England, Mott McDonald, Northumbrian Water, Siemens UK and Ubisoft Reflections Ltd.

Alyson Ainsworth FCIPD, a qualified career coach will join us to deliver a session on ‘How to jump-start your job search’ and improve your CV to help you get your dream role.

We also have a panel of senior people professionals who will share their journey to becoming a chartered member of CIPD and answer any questions about the pathways to becoming chartered.

I’m particularly excited to welcome Olive Strachan MBE CCIPD as one of our keynote speakers. She is an award-winning diversity and inclusion specialist and I’m sure her session - ‘The Power of You: How to triumph in the face of adversity' - will resonate and inspire everybody to aim higher in their career and role.

Connect with your peers at scale

One of the huge advantages of running this popular conference online is that it attracts CIPD students and early career professionals, from all over the world. This diverse mix of global talent presents a unique opportunity to expand your network by connecting with your peers at scale, along with our experts, via the online chat function.

Last year’s CIPD Student Conference created quite the social media buzz, with hundreds of early-career professionals connecting on their social media channels and posting positive feedback and thoughts about the day. Read more about my reflections from the 2021 CIPD Student Conference here.
