Workplace stress is growing exponentially, with over 11 million days lost to anxiety last year in the UK, and consequent impacts on wellbeing and productivity…and this may be the tip of the iceberg when we also include presenteeism and unreported mental health issues. The CIPD’s 2016 Absence management survey, in partnership with Simplyhealth, found that stress was again the number one cause of long-term sickness absence among the workforce.
Nearly a third reported that stress-related absence had increased in their organisation over the past 12 months, with workload emerging as by far the biggest cause of work-related stress.
If you’re an HR/wellbeing manager or advisor, or a senior executive with an eye on maintaining a healthy workforce, you need to know what to do about it.
Join up for a free online conference on work-related stress on June 15th, which will be replayed on June 19th. The CIPD’s Rachel Suff, Sir Cary Cooper and other leading UK experts will present an update on current issues, research and stress reduction strategies.
Why you shouldn’t miss it:
- Get an update on current issues, research, legislation, and stress reduction strategies.
- Hear from, and connect with, UK thought leaders and practitioners.
- Feel more confident to take action in your own workplace or to advise others.
The summit will comprise 15-20 interviews or presentations by some of the UK’s leading mental health and workplace experts, including Mental Health First Aid England, Acas, the Health and Safety Executive, and the Mental Health Foundation.
