People analyst

Hi everyone, I have recently just been promoted to start my new role in August as a people analyst, and have been told this is my stepping stone to become a people partner - what are your thoughts on this and how would you explain the role of a people analyst as if I am honest I am not 100% sure what this role is? Thank you for any feedback x

Congratulations, Beverley... and welcome to the Community.

I'm not sure what a "people partner" is to be honest (HR Business Partner??)... but err, did you ask any questions about the 'people analyst' role?

Jacqueline, do you think this would be an HR Analytics role?

  • In reply to Steve Bridger:

It could be ... (said in a cautious tone of voice) ;-)

Beverley, do you have anything that describes the job - a JD or a list of duties/responsibilities?

I worked as a HR Analyst for many years and it involved being responsible for the HR system (and sourcing and implementing a new one), creating management information reports and analyses and interpreting them for the senior team, looking after Reward and Benefits and cost modelling and implementing pay increases and managing pensions admin.

Does that sound anything like what you'd be doing? I would have said that my role was very much a specialist role and it took me away from a generalist career path for a number of years, till I made a conscious to move back to generalist HR.

    Happy to chat further.

    Kind regards

    Jackie
