Coaching Qualifications

Hi folks!

Looking for some clarity! I've been offered a place at the University of Cambridge on their Undergrad Certificate in Coaching however a local training provider is offering a CMI Level 7 Cert at the minute for £425+ VAT.

So my question is, which would you choose? Do you go for Cambridge University or the higher level qualification? With the way the Level 7 is taught I feel like I would learn just as much through them both.

Thanks! Evan

That is very cheap for a level 7, so I would be wary. When considering coaching, please also look at the amount of coaching practice hours you will be asked to do and reflect upon outside of the online learning environment. This should be c 20-30 hours for a level 7 cert, 100 for a diploma. If less, I'd steer well clear.
I offer this feedback as someone who qualified as an exec coach and then a coach supervisor on an ILM 7, and now mentors and supervises coaches. The practical element is where the learning is - the content is only part of it.
