Executive coaching qualifications

I am thinking of training and qualifying as an executive coach and am currently looking at 2 options: 1.Henley Professional Certificate, which is accredited by the Association for Coaching, the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and the International Coach Federation (cost £6,250 online) or 2.ILM level 7 Executive Coaching Diploma through the British School of Coaching (cost £4,790 online). My gut feel is that the Henley Certificate is more recognized within the HR community but I was wondering whether any of you have come across either or have any recommendations/thoughts on this? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated:)

Glad you’re doing your research. Like you I took a good look around. I’d been coaching for a good few years but was getting more enquiries about qualifications so thought I’d focus on training suppliers that were accredited with professional bodies (AC, EMCC and ICF). I came across Animas.com who ran face to face training at that time but during Covid have transferred to Zoom. Cost was about £3500. They were excellent, and provided a lot of free support which they continue to do afterwards. They are accredited with both ICF and AC. You’ll need to budget more to get a professional body credential. As someone else has said, see if your training company offers a taster day and speak to past trainees.
I have a colleague who did the Henley course and rated it highly too. Feel free to reach out via LinkedIn if you want to know more. Best of luck.
