The value of dual qualification with CIPD Level 7 in HR + L&D

The body is two professions in one, namely HR and L&D, so if someone held both the CIPD Level 7 in Human Resources Management and Learning and Development, would that give them more options and flexibility to try for jobs on both fronts if something was not happening on or going their own way on one of them?

Many people take the view that if you have a problem in landing a role, just going and doing another course is not the answer, as you merely load your CV with a huge in-balance.between experience and education, the former that always wins over the latter.

However, if one can't currently advance on the work front and wishes to keep moving forward and developing at the same time, could this be a temporary answer or solution in the interim?

  • André, you've answered your own question in many of your other posts. Candidates who are able to present and sell what they achieved and who can demonstrate how that has added value to their employer, will - all other things being equal - almost always be selected over someone who has the paper qualification but is not able to sell their experience as adding value.
