Could anyone provide an overview of the key legislation to be aware of for a new HR Professional please? For example 

GDPR?

Equality Act?

National Minimum Wage?

Health and Safety?

  • Conor, it might just be a good idea to buy a an employment law book such as Selwyn's Law of Employment. But it won't cover everything you need to know or be aware of, as different industries have different requirements. So in a chemical company you may want a detailed knowledge of COSHH, and so on.
