5DPP assignment

Hi everyone, hoping for some guidance/reassurance. I'm battling with 5DPP - Developing Professional Practice and the template has me stumped.. i just don't know where to start. Is the template asking me to do the items stated or am i expected to 'essay style' answer the questions e.g. 4.3 Produce a plan to meet personal development objectives. I struggle with interpreting this into what i actually need to produce... I'm struggling to connect to this one.

  • Hi Lauren,

When I did mine, I had to do the items on the plan. I had to fill in the template of what I'd done over the past year and then fill in another template of what I plan to do to meet my own learning objectives. I started off doing the CIPD map on here though to identify where I had gaps and then used the gaps to write my objectives and how i would meet them.

  • Hi Lauren,

I completed my Intermediate Diploma recently and would be happy to help if I can. I submitted 5DPP in report form (essay style). However, for 4.3 I referenced a document submitted as an Appendix which I did in work. For this bit I sent in a CPD Record (I may have gotten a template for this from the CIPD website) showing what I had learnt by month/period, what I have used it for and if it requires any further action.

Sorry -" Appendix which I did in *Word" that should read!
  • Not just me who wasn't very clear on this 1 then! I went back to my Coach/Assessor to clarify what should be included in the actual template and how I should refer to the PDP separately.

Thank you! I've had another chat with my tutor and understand what i need to do here :)

    Hi Lauren,
on the 5DPP myself and had similar issues with the PDP. If you have a line-manager at work and/or appraisals that will help you identify where you need to develop. If you haven't this support it will be down to self-assessment. There is a template on the CIPD forum with references from plans others have drawn-up.

    good luck
