Interview advice for first interview at a senior position

Hi All,

I'm looking for some advice or tips for interview that I have coming up next week, it is for senior HR role. I am currently a HR manager in a school and have applied for  Head of Operational Human Resources in a private setting. I am excited to be shortlisted and at the same time very nervous as this would be my first interview in 5 years and since completing my Level 7.

I am unsure of how to prep for this any hints/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

  • If I were interviewing you I would probably ask you about

    - Transitioning from a slow (external unfair impression) school environment to a fast paced commercial one? Demonstrate how you will be able to cope

    - Ask you about how you have managed a team of HR professionals and developed them

    - Ask you about the most complicated ER situations you have dealt with

    - Ask you about your legacy in the school

    - Ask you about where you have had to influence a Board / senior leader and how successful was it

    - Probably ask about juggling multiple priorites

Most questions would be in competency mode and I would follow up on each as your answers dictated

    Good luck
