Level 5 or Level 7?

Hi everyone!

I have just submitted my final Level 3 assessment and am now considering my next move for training. I have been working in HR for just over 3 years, at my first role I oversaw the HR for the full business as it was a software SME and now I work as a HR Advisor in a medium sized business. I really enjoyed the Level 3 but did not really find it challenging and am now looking to go straight into the next qualification but am unsure what is the right option. I don't have a degree or anything like that so am unsure whether the Level 7 will be too much of a jump at this stage. Does anyone have any advice?

Thank you so much!

  • Hi Darcey - well done on your Level 3. The CIPD qualifications are designed as building blocks so it is better to do Level 5 before Level 7 unless you have significant experience at a senior level, a strategic role and a strong academic background. I am happy to help you to explore the options if that helps - I work with a CIPD study centre and advise learners every day.
