I am working on Level 5CO01 and stumbling at the first hurdle - in the ICS study materials there are no mentions of a flat or hierachical structure.  

I can compare the two using other reserch methods (Vertical vs Horizontal terminology) but why aren't they in the CIPD materials.  AIHR and other websites even Indeed list them but not the learning provider or source material.  Why ask a question that you don't cover?

What evidence can I use as my argument if CIPD don't provide any info!?  

I have contacted my course tutor so hopefully they can shed more light on the subject.  First question and I've been stuck on it for weeks and it's really thrown me!  Very frustrating.
