Mid-career professional - which direction do I go next?

Hello all,

Delighted to be part of this community. For the past 8 years I have been working in HR on the recruitment side. However, due to the nature of the companies I worked for, I have had very strong interfaces with HR Directors, HR Managers, HR Business Partner's and HR Shared Services. This has allowed me to build a strong understanding of HR practices, and a considerable knowledge base in HR. Whilst at university, I did not study HR but did a Masters in Business with specialism in HR (my thesis was actually about 'diversity in business'). So, where I am at the moment is at a careers crossroads. I've pretty much experienced and achieved everything I wanted to achieve on the side of recruitment. Conundrum for me is:

1) Do I move into an HR role i.e. HRBP etc - do I need study a CIPD level 5 or 7 for that, is it even worth my time and investment if I already have an indirect academic grounding in it already?

2) Do I reinforce my skill set in recruitment and plan to move into a Head of Recruitment and/or Director of Recruitment role?

3) Do I continue what I am doing at the moment (I'm a senior corporate recruitment business partner) and build my career in a way that I can move into consulting?

I am not looking for a particular answer to any of the above but just need a steer so I can help make a better and more informed choice - perhaps some of you have experienced the same situation i find myself in? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance. Zabe.
