Avado CIPD Level 3 in HR

Hello...my name is Ellie and I started the CIPD Level 3 in Human Resources.

Incredibly nervous and I am already having a few issues with work I have completed yesterday disappearing and having to start again. So this is not helping to my nerves. I am hoping to network a little and maybe buddy up to get feedback of their own experiences with Avado and am happy to give support and help and would be grateful for any advice that people may be able to give.

I have never completed an online course before and so far I am not having the best start! I hope this time next year I will be qualified and looking to do some further courses.

Thank you in advance to anyone that may be able to give some feedback.

  • Hi Ellie,

My name’s Holly and I work as Alumni Programme Manager with AVADO. I stumbled across your post and wondered if I could offer any additional help/advice

First of all, completely understand that ‘nervous feeling’, being a CIPD student myself! It’s a big investment of time but I’d like to assure you that it does also come with such great sense of fulfilment as you go through.

I’d definitely recommend reaching out to your tutor/fellow HR Level students in the Virtual Campus Forum. They’re there to support you throughout your course.

Another thought - has anyone in your cohort created a WhatsApp group? On my cohort, someone created one and it’s been really useful and supportive for all of us. Perhaps you could instigate this on the Virtual Campus forum if nobody’s done this already? – I bet you’re not alone in feeling a bit daunted by the online learning experience.

If you’d like to follow up with me via email/speak over the phone, please let me know. You can reach me here: alumni@avadolearning.com.

    All the best,
    Holly

    Good morning Holly,

Thank you for your post. I found some parts of the VLC a little difficult to navigate my way around but managed to find some pointers and my Tutor did offer some feedback which was really helpful.

I have not really had much interaction with the other students thus far. However this is only my second week into the course and I am like a little rabbit in the headlights at the moment!

I will certainly keep going and hopefully things will be a little less daunting in the future. Thank you again Holly.

    Best regards,

    Ellie

You're very welcome Ellie. All the best with the rest of your course and please feel free to get in touch if you'd like!

    Best,
    Holly

  • Hi Ellie,

I completed the course last year - it's totally understandable to be nervous and it takes a while to get your head round the VLC, but you'll find your feet in no time!

My advice would be to attend the Tutor sessions whenever you can (or download afterwards to watch in your own time), as the Tutors do tend to go through the assignments and detail what is expected of you which is useful! Also, don't be afraid to email your Tutor, I hounded mine :) A WhatsApp group was also created and we all helped each other with various parts of the course :)

I'm happy to help you with anything if you have any queries, just contact me on clare@tesa-hvac.co.uk.

    You can do this!

    Hi Clare,

Your post made me smile! :) I feel like I am hounding mine a little but I find it a bit strange submitting a load of work and not knowing if any of it is correct. I feel like I just need a tick or something to say - Yup! That's fine. Then I can carry on a little more confidently with the next section.

Did you do your course through Avado?

Thank you for the contact details. I will save your email if you don't mind and would appreciate your help if possible going forward.

Bless you - thank you Clare :)

    Best wishes,

    Ellie
