HR SOP Specialist

Hi Guys

Hope you are all well.

I posted a topic about "How to break into first HR role" on the 6th July. I explained briefly about my background and what my situation is. I'm new to HR and I'm currently studying towards a level 3 with ICS learn. I've been applying for roles (entry level). I had an interview this week for a HR SOP specialist with a well know reputable company, and I got offered the role having worked/been exposed to standard operating procedure from my pharma background. Its a contract role however so I'm looking to go ahead with it to gain some experience within the HR department.

I wanted to ask, maybe the more experienced individuals may be able to help. Do all companies deal with SOP's, as from the interview it seemed to be that it is a very skilled and not so common role within HR. Also when looking at job descriptions I haven't come across the term in general. Any advice and tips on this and also how to gain and make the most of the experience?

Kind Regards
Sonam

  • Congratulations on the role. Hopefully you can use it to lead into other things either with that company or using the experience elsewhere.

I have never come across a SOP specialist as a stand alone role. I have come across it as part of change projects rolled into something else. On your CV I might be tempted to ensure it is less niche if I could.

    Hi Keith

    Thank you for your response.

Right ok, yes its part of a project they are doing, looking into changes of procedures etc... but I will get a little exposure of what the general HR team do aswell.

    Thank you for your help.

    Thanks
