Finding first HR role in UK

Hello all,

Its good to be interacting with those sailing in the same boat!

I have around 5 years of experience and also Post Graduate Diploma in HR from India. However, I got to work in only in admin roles after I moved to UK as I don't have UK HR experience (seems to be the main criteria). Hence, I have taken up CIPD Level 5 to gain knowledge and yes, to land a HR role.

I am enthusiastic to take up unpaid internships or volunteering roles in HR. I have approached a few companies, but it has been unsuccessful. Has anyone landed an internship/volunteering role in HR when they weren't working? Could you guide me to some websites or companies where I can find such roles?

Hi, I literally sent out around 40 letters to companies in my area, and asked them to take me on as a volunteer to gain experience. I was contacted by one companie out of the 40 and they have given me a placement. I go there once sa fortnight, as well as attend my full time, paid job. This is giving me exposure to an HR environment. But still struggling to even get an interview for a full time job.
