I've been working full time in HR for about 16 years now and I really crave more flexibility with my time so that I can take better care of my family and myself. I have toyed with the idea of requesting a 3 or 4 day week in my current role, but I fear I would be just cutting my salary rather than my workload.
So now I'm thinking about moving from a permanent role to contracting work, but I really have no idea whether this is a good solution or whether it will bring unexpected stress from issues I can't predict before I do it.
Has anyone had experience of making this change - and what would your advice be?
