HR Tips required

Hi All

I have been asked to give a presentation at a networking event attended by 25 - 30 business owners/managers with the title my top ten HR tips - just wondering what tips would you give if you were making this presentation?

  • 1) Keep everything as simple as possible
    2) Treat employees as individuals
    3) Forms and paperwork should be the minimum required to be clear
    4) Focus on what people can deliver / output rather than inputs
    5) Thanks and praise is worth far more to most than other rewards
    6) Hire the best talent you can
    7) Encourage development and learning even if you can't see the direct use
    8) Treat every applicant as a potential ambassador for your brand.
    9) equity / fairness is important
    10) people management is a managers job not a HR departments.
