2 Change of Career but getting nowhere!

Hey there,

So I have previously worked in an office role but only really dabbled into HR, it was more Office Ops...with no career progression I started teaching English abroad, which i had been doing until last June where I decided that I wanted to have a proper shot at HR and do the CIPD level 3 and more . I am currently in the last unit of my level 3. Due to personal commitments I am looking for something remote or a workplace which is doesnt require me to come in very frequently . I am really interested in the analytics side and really enjoyed that unit in the level 3. I am looking for remote HR roles- entry level, admin roles.... and i think i have applied for over 500 roles and im getting rejections after rejections......

Anyone have any tips on what to do .....or which roles i should be applying for, for remote?

There are several challenges which are hard but not impossible to overcome. (1) It is a buyers market in HR and especially with entry level jobs, so companies can be very fussy and sometimes irrational. (2) The number of jobs which let you work remotely is not increasing.

However, there does seem to be a demand for analytics people. HR analytics might give you an advantage but if I was looking to move into this area, I would look at the wider world of analytics first, this way you are not limiting the type of work available to you.

Without doubt I would also find out where your local CIPD branch is and actively participate in their activities. This is also a great place to network with potential employers.

If you want an easy way to get a good understand of the practicalities of HR then set aside some time and start reading as many threads on here as you can.
