  • As I am in holiday mode I am nominating myself for the " HR Director to be laid back in the face of the next big thing to hit the industry" award.

What would people nominate themselves for?

Hi Martin - yes the People Management Awards #PMAs17 take place on 26 Sept. Here's where you can find out about the shortlisted organisations -

(I think People Management Magazine normally does a feature about the winners afterwards so you can read more of the story.)

  • In reply to Keith:

That's a great idea Keith 'nominating yourself'. Have a great holiday and hopefully you'll be back before the awards
  • In reply to Johanna:

Thanks a mil Johanna, I'll surely go through this

    In reply to Debora:

This 'Alternative' PM Awards thing could catch on.

(Not to detract from the real thing, of course).

Hi Martin - well the PMAs took place last night and a good time was had by all! Congrats to all the winners and finalists! If you click into this tweet from headline sponsors, Resource Management, you should be able to watch their short video from the night!

Itsu took home the trophy for being The Overall Winners - for a full list of the category winners take a look here:

  • "Most ingenious application of jargon in an HR Project"
"Most craven application of policy in defiance of basic compassion"
"Largest proportion of budget spent on pseudoscientific or psychobabble solutions"
"Most over-hyped re-branding of an HR Department"

And, in partnership with the Law Society:

"Tribunal finding most at odds with the principles of natural justice"

    In reply to Robey:

Apropos of the other thread, you are clearly wasted in your current role Robey and you surely will reach 'those lofty heights'...

    (On second thoughts...)

  • In reply to Steve Bridger:

I wasn't nominating myself, there, Steve!

I mean, I might be short-listed, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't make the final cut. XD
  • In reply to Johanna:

Thanks a mil Johanna for the update .. i"ll check them out asap
