Grievance Subject - Investigation Notice

I would be grateful for views/opinions in respect of providing advance notice of an investigatory meeting to an employee who is the subject of a grievance raised by another employee.

Whilst strictly there is no right to be notified in advance or accompanied to an investigation meeting, and there is no provision for such in our policies, I would be grateful for viewpoints on whether this should be reasonably considered.

  • Ideally you would give notice but sadly these days this may well produce an absence and fit note for stress.

    I would just ask them and be prepared to reconvene, depending on the issues and how it goes.
