Hi, can anyone offer some guidance on the following:

Our employee works 38hour full time Monday to Thursday inclusive. On the Sunday prior to the working week, she was taken ill and submitted a SSP, with the starting sickness date as the Sunday. She did not return until the following Monday.

HMRC has advised that the Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are counted as her 'Waiting days' (not off sick previously) with SSP entitlement for Wed and Thurs, as these would have been her working days, whilst another adviser has said that the waiting day only starts from the Monday, the day they were due to work, so would only be entitled to Thursday payment. 

Can anyone advise as to who is correct?
