HR-Inform

Hi all,

We are about to subscribe for HR-inform pro and I would like to hear feedback from colleagues who have used it or are using it.

Could anyone please share their experience using it especially thoughts or reviews about the 5-year sign up.

  • Hi Oredola, apologies this is late, but thought I'd share for the benefit of others.

    I used HR Inform at my last job and having just moved to a standalone role, I recommended a subscription to my new employer.

    Unfortunately, it turned into a long drawn out process as they also tried to get me to commit to a 5 year contract on a significantly higher price than my last company. I'm finally on a 2 year deal, closer in cost to my last company. However, having read several posts about the pitfalls of auto-renewal, I served notice on the same day I signed up! Let's see what happens in 2 years' time...

    Whilst this horse-trading was going on, I did investigate XpertHR (now Brightmine) and Peninsula. Both looked very good, although were not a straight apples with apples comparison with HR Inform, but both were much more expensive and I couldn't justify the difference to my new employer. I will definitely do a market review in two years' time though. I guess that the CIPD membership discount of 50% makes all the difference so while the CIPD partner with Croner, it's always going to be hard to financially justify another platform...

    In terms of HR Inform, I use it mainly for their template documents which generally do the job. I've used the helpline twice in 4 years and felt no more confident when I hung up the 'phone. They don't seem prepared to commit to much and I think you may still end up paying for legal advice for anything really tricky. I've just had a demo of their job evaluation / salary benchmarking tool which looks very good though.
