If you have just issued an employee with dismissal during a disciplinary hearing and they then hand you their resignation - does the sanction supersede the resignation or can I accept the resignation?

Thanks Ray, the dismissal was with immediate effect so the resignation would therefore have no effect.

And even if they did resign the reason for leaving should still be dismissal as you had issued the sanctionVisit the main CIPD website
