Hi All,

We offered an HCPC registered Physiotherapist a job agreeing to sponsor her on Tier 2 Visa (from a Tier 4) when all of her employment checks were in place.

I am now in a position to do this however, there are some issues, in summary:

1)      Applicant was on a Tier 4 Visa (end date Jan 19)

2)      She was offered a role (Physiotherapist with HCPC registration on 14/02/19).  With agreement we would sponsor her on a Tier 2 Visa

3)      Her Passport and Tier 4 Biometric card was sent to the Home Office to extend her stay so we have a copy of her passport not the original

4)      Since then her passport has expired beginning of  March 19

5)      She is unable to get her documents back until the Home Office have confirmation of her Tier 2 Sponsorship from employer

Her immigration solicitor has verified this and sees no issue in us sponsoring her using an expired passport under the Tier 2 General Switching immigration category.

Just wondered whether anyone else had encountered anything similar?
