Experience Assessment - benefits?

Hello everyone

I think I need to consult the "hive mind" on this. 

I need to prepare a business case for my employer on my next chunk of training budget. I'm thinking of going down the CIPD Experience Assessment route to get me from Assoc CIPD to Chartered CIPD member. 

However, it comes across more as a "rubber stamp" exercise rather than a learning journey. What benefits could I add to a business case for this investment? 

Any thoughts appreciated.

    I'm not sure that there's much in the way of measurable benefits to the business, per se. After all, it's not like you'll be magically equipped with new knowledge and skills as a result of becoming Chartered through the experience assessment. And the business is unlikely to need you to be Chartered to meet any kind of external benchmarking process, although you might be able to swing it if they still use IiP.

    Possibly it would be contributory towards ISO 9001:2015 evidence of a measurable quality standard in HR practice.

    The main benefit they would gain is if they tied paying for your experience assessment to a clawback subject to a return of service. So, by paying out for this now, they improve the odds of your sticking around for another 2-3 years by imposing a clawback if you leave early. Golden (or at least, slightly tarnished silver) handcuffs, if you will.
