Preparing for Professional Discussion

Hi there,

I have finally reached the point of preparing for my Chartered Member PD, scheduled for 2nd December and I would love to hear from someone who has already gone through it, that would be willing to offer tips on what to expect. 

I have already combed the official guidance and I am not looking for content tips obviously, just anything that might help calm my nerves.

  • I am on similar journey Catrina. if you hear inputs on PD, do let me know. I also have it next week. One question I have is - will PD be largely focused on written submission or will it be beyond it? If you find any links, do share. All the best.

    Hi Amit,

    The links I found on what to expect in the PD were either from CIPD's YouTube channel or on the Experience Assessment Home Page so you may already have access to them. Also, I found the Candidate Guidance very helpful in terms of outlining what to expect. I focused my prep on meeting the points outlined in the Candidate Guidance and that seemed to match what I experienced in the PD. Other than that, I guess I'll have to find out if I got the right end of it when I find out my result.
