HRIS - educational setting

Hi has anyone come across an HRIS that can accommodate the multiple roles and allowances effectively? I’ve spoken to a couple of companies now that are reluctant to work with a school as the complex roles can be difficult to accommodate. I’ve now looked at Civica but not keen based on cost and previous reviews on here. I’ve come across PS People which comes from Iris which is the company that merged with ISAMS last year, does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

  • Hi Leela,

I've gone through quite a process on this, and would be happy to chat about it offline if that's helpful. Having implemented one program (Natural HR) with a work around solution for the multiple roles/responsibilities, it looks likely that we (our wider group of schools) will need to move to one that can fully accommodate multiple roles. We are reviewing a few providers, including iTrent and WCBS.

    Thanks,

    Nina

Hi Nina, sorry I just responded to your last message as well!

I've already spoken with Natural HR and they were reluctant because of the multiple roles.

Having done some further research over the weekend, I'm looking at a demo for People HR, and possibly a demo for Cezanne HR.

Interestingly I stumbled across SAMPeople, which is a new HRIS from Fusion HR (2020) and built primarily for Education, so I'm waiting to hear back from them.

Just had a quick google of WCBS as not heard of them before.. can't see them linking with ISAMs but as standalone HR module it looks ok.

I'm quickly finding out that this is not an easy process for schools!

Apparently iTrent have some kind of agreement with iSAMS, which implies there might be a simple connection in future. I think if your HR system will support the functions you need, an API link would work between it and iSAMS anyway - that's what we were working towards with Natural HR.

Both WCBS and iTrent seemed comprehensive when we reviewed them recently, and would cover all the functionality we needed across a group of schools. It would be fundamental for us that they could API link to iSAMS, if they don't already have a vehicle set up to do so.

It's an interesting journey. Let me know how you get on with SAMPeople - not heard of them before.
