Access to Work - voice recognition software

HI,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with voice recognition software.

We have a teacher that would really benefit from this, however I don't know what would be the best type. Or who to ask for advice. I have googled it, but it is really overwhelming.

Occupational Health and Access to Work didn't actually use this as a suggestion so they aren't able to help with this.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks,

Jenny

  • Hi Jenny

We have quite a few staff who use Dragon and they seem to like it - might be worth exploring
    Thanks

  • Agree with Emily, Dragon has been one of the market leaders since the inception of voice recognition systems. Like the others, it has problems with strong regional accents, but merits its sound reputation
  • In reply to Ray:

(Was introduced recently to ClaroRead software and found it very good indeed for the other way round as it were - converting text documents to speech output. Not perfect / a bit robotic compared with a sentient human reader, but can be most useful.)
