I am curious to see if anyone has any knowledge on whether or not teaching staff can be furloughed over the summer, in a fee paying independent school?

My initial thought was no because they would not normally be working (although receiving pay), however I have heard that other schools may be doing this- and on reading the guideline on the gov website, I cant see any clear reason as to why this can't be done?

Interested to see if anyone has done this?
