Changes affecting part time workers

Hi,

We are a College who wish to implement a different timetable structure for staff. For most staff this will be beneficial as it will mean they finish earlier. For part time staff, although we will maintain their working hours i.e. 80% FTE, they may have to work across more days i.e. 80% across 5 days. My concerns are:

How can I mitigate the risks of discrimination claims?

If the majority of staff are happy with this are we still taking a risk?

Are new contracts needed?
