4 Special leave of absence policy for college

I work for a further education college and we are in the process of reviewing our Special Leave of Absence Policy and wondered what others are currently offering in relation to what is paid or unpaid. This is my first role in FE and am interested to hear from anyone also working in an education organisation, although feedback from any organisation would be useful.

I'm interested in this too as we are reviewing ours. We currently offer approx 5 days per year to those with good attendance rates, for unforeseen circumstances.

In my last role in an FE College we offered five days paid family emergency in a rolling 12 month. This covered emergency childcare/boiler bursting/serious illness of a family member etc. We also offered 5 days paid compassionate leave. Any leave above this was unpaid.
