Non compliant managers

Hello,

Hope all is well and someone could advise? New to HR and would like to know other than taking a very serious route such as disciplinary and warnings what would a HR adviser do in a situation where a manager is not following procedures and policies and going off on their own? Other than verbal warning, written warning and disciplinary I can't think of anything else?

  • None of those at first

If I couldn't use my influencing skills to persuade them / show them the error of their ways I would get their manager to manage them.

Thank you, that is very helpful. Seems as though the HR advisor has taken this approach already and tried to show them the benefits of following policies, yet they still seem to do their own thing.
  • In reply to Bhavika:

Then get their manager to manage them

HRs job is not to manage people in Operations
  • Keith is 100% correct - as normal. Just to clarify:- Who is this person's line manager - you or someone else?
  • I would also look at whether you have any policies or job description that backs up the expectations of what they should be doing.
