A/L entitlement for TTO P/T workers

Hi

This is a bit of a difficult and complicated one.

We are currently going through redundancies of Teaching Assistants and support staff. We have 1 employee who has just returned from maternity leave who is willing to take voluntary redundancy.

The question is how much annual leave will she be entitled to. Annual leave is calculated April-March for TAs.

She started in employment 1.9.2013. Maternity leave dates are 8.6.17-11.3.18. She only works 3 days per week, Monday, Thursday and Friday. Her final date if redundancy is taken will be 31.7.18.

She is paid for 44.46 weeks per year.

Can anybody help as I dont want her to lose out

    What is the full year entitlement and what is your holiday period is it Jan to Dec or April to March.

    She would be entitled to pay from August 2018 as this is banked time from working throughout the year.

    Her maternity leave is taken in the holiday year prior (Apr 17 - Mar 18) to the year the redundancy is taking place (Apr 18 - Mar 19) - have you calculated her entitlement from the maternity leave period for a carry over to the following year as this can just be paid?

    You need to calculate her entitlement in £s for the 5 months from Apr 18 - Jul 18, take away what holiday pay she will receive in the 5 month period and pay/deduct the difference.
  • Hello Donna, I work in a School and our Term Time Formula is calculated September to August in line with the Academic year. Could you just clarify, as your post suggests that your term-time formula is calculated the same as the leave year?
