Annualised hours and holidays

Hi there

As part of our overall business we have 2 engineering apprentice training centres which up until now have been run as a business, 37.5 hours/week, 26 days annual leave + Bank Holidays and no mention of term time working etc, even though the learners go back to company for the summer, we do not have a summer break for the staff, obviously they can book annual leave if required.  I am looking at ways we can align these two business units more closely to a educational arrangement as we are struggling to recruit and we do need qualified teachers.

Does anyone have a template contract of employment we could use to start to change new recruits and do staff receive salary for 12 months but pro-rata to take account of a summer shutdown/annualised hours?

Also, we have the standard benefits, pension, support with the cost of training, wellbeing initiatives but is there anything else more specific to the educational sector that we should look at to encourage more candidates.

I do appreciate that the market is very competitive at the moment so looking at ways we can improve the offering we have and move from the current approach.

Thank you.
