Fixed-Term Contract and Continuous Service

I am currently supporting a school who, last year, issued a fixed-term contract of a year, to a teacher who has previous continuous service, with the same LA (this is confirmed in the contract).

I'm just looking for confirmation of my thoughts please, that, they cannot end the teacher's employment at the end of the fixed-term and need to positively seek an alternative role for them, or pay them a redundancy payment - that's correct isn't it?
