Hi all

I work in a Further Education group of colleges, and I have been approached about potentially looking into adopting a 4 day week for staff (being paid for five). 

Given funding is so tight at present, this would be a good way of giving staff an effective pay rise, without costing any more in real terms.  The mental health benefits are widely reported and I think it would help massively with attraction and retention.  The difficult part is the actual detail and how it will work in real terms, particularly those who are student facing (we would not be looking at closing for a day so would still need a five day student facing presence).  

Has anyone trialled this themselves in their own school/college, or are you aware of any other education establishments that are looking at this?
