Apprentices and hybrid working

We haven't employed any new apprentices since the start of the pandemic and are now starting to look at doing so.

We are in the planning phase for hybrid working for the whole organisation and plan to introduce this formally in September. Currently most of our office based employee are working from home full time.

Can anywhere share experiences of apprentices joining their organisation whilst hybrid working is in place, or your plans for how you are going to make that work.

Many thanks

  • It depends what sort of an apprentice they are.
A mature person might suit an office role that is hybrid
Taking on a young person to learn a skill including how to behave at work on anything other than a full time basis seems like madness to me.

thanks Peter, I think that for apprentices with less work experience more face-to-face time would be ideal - I can't visualise how they can be supported in an appropriate way fully remotely for sure.
  • In reply to Josie:

Many apprentices struggle with the responsibility of day release.
