We are currently looking to introduce a policy for a few of our employees that allows them to reduce their total salary in order to buy holiday.

The employees that we wish to offer this to are in a certain department. Is there any implications for not offering this to other employees who have been with the Company for a similar amount of time?

Any issues would come down to (a) perceived fairness and (b) any potential indirect discrimination claims if the profile of the department is different to your normal profile.

Generally, I think its probably a bad idea offering something like this just to one area unless there's a very compelling business reason to do so
