Mileage rates in the UAE tend to be somewhere between 50 fils and one dirham per km (fuel costs are still relatively cheap in comparison with many countries). For our management and above, we provide a fixed monthly transport allowance that's inclusive of fuel/mileage and other costs, which is more efficient to administer - we only reimburse mileage claims for employees who don't receive an allowance and who don't travel regularly. Some companies also vary allowance amounts if there are significant differences in local travel requirements (e.g. add supplements for sales teams) or provide fuel cards.
