CIPD Qualification Australian equivalent

Hi,I'm studying at the moment a CIPD Level 3 Diploma in HR Practice and I'm about to move to Australia hoping to get my first HR role once I finished the course. Does someone know which is the Australian equivalent of this qualification or if it is recognised in Australia due to the CIPD-AHRI reciprocity agreement?

Thanks

  • Hi Carmen
Lucky you :) Once you have completed your qualification and move up to Associate level, this is the equivalent level that you can apply for in Australia under the AHRI agreement. I believe (but I may be wrong) that their courses are different to CIPD as there are a lot of local labour laws that are different to ours that you would need to get your head around depending which state you are working in. Good luck with the move.

    Hi Carmen,

Catherine is correct. When you finish and pass your diploma you will be awarded Associate membership by us (CIPD).

Associate is recognised by AHRI in the agreement we have with them and is equivalent to Professional Member of AHRI (MAHRI) status.

You can contact AHRI at member@ahri.com.au for more info.

Hi Steve, I am interested in the equivalent for my membership (FCIPD) do you know? I have emailed the AHRI but haven't heard back form them yet.

If you are aware of the process based on your agreement with them that would be helpful too. Thanks

Hi again, Ian... and welcome to the Community!

This is the email we send to members in regards to AHRI membership.

As a CIPD member you can join the Australian Human Resources Institute and gain a level of professional membership.

You can see how the membership grades are matched below:

    • If you’re an Associate Member (Assoc CIPD) your grade of membership is equivalent to a Professional Member of AHRI (MAHRI)
    • If you’re a Chartered Member (Chartered MCIPD) your grade of membership is equivalent to a Certified Professional of AHRI (CAHRI)
    • If you’re a Chartered Fellow (Chartered FCIPD) your grade of membership is equivalent to a Fellow of AHRI (FAHRI)

To apply membership you’ll need to provide proof of your membership and a current curriculum vitae, and on joining you’ll automatically be awarded the equivalent membership grade of AHRI.

Please email members@ahri.com.au for more information.

    Hope this helps.
