acas representative

I am currently going through a meeting of an alleged theft at a branch I work for. my colleague wants to bring in an acas rep. from tescos. can they represent on his behalf?

    Not clear about the status of the proposed rep - ACAS aren’t part of Tescos…..

    What is clear is that a statutory companion is only a right at a formal disciplinary or dismissal hearing and has to be either a work colleague or an accredited representative of and by a trade union. Unless this proposed companion meets one or more of these criteria they have no statutory right to be there but of course can be permitted on a discretionary basis.
