Covid-19 - Questions for the CEO & board

Hi CIPD community, 

I have been an avid discussion forum lurker for many years but this is my first post (so apologies if I did not post this on the right discussion topic!)

I have an introduction meeting with our parent company's new CEO and board members and have been asked to come prepared with a question.

There are so many I can think of in the post covid world, I think that we are on the cusp of HR being as seen as a true business partner

What would you say is the key people question to be asking at this time? I think learnings from covid is a must, just not sure how to word it

    I think you are thinking that because you work in HR, you should ask a people question but I’d suggest that because you work in HR you should ask a commercial question. Ask something about the future of the business, about the assumptions they have made about the trading environment, the financial modelling they have done ... ... . If you want to be a true business partner, demonstrate that your head is in the business.
