Switching off at the end of the day

Good afternoon all,

I am looking for an article from CIPD about switching off at the end of the working day.

I was told that there was something about this that CIPD released. I want to provide evidence that it is important to switch off at the end of a working day with facts on how this can support Mental Health & Wellbeing and not working over finishing times.

I hope you are able to help.

Many thanks

Kelly

  • Hi Kelly, as well as looking at the resources and links shared by Steve and Jacqueline and CIPD articles, there is a lot of research and information about the importance of the brain having time to 'rest', that includes sleep as well as doing other activities like exercise, meditation, hobbies, be with other people or be alone..... Sharing this with people, giving them 'permission' to not always be on and encouraging them to do other things can help workplace wellbeing and support people to find their own ways of switching off and having some separation between home, life & work.

ps we don't always need evidence to do the right thing.

Good luck with whatever you are doing.
