Can coaching strengthen the resilience of HR professionals?

Pease can you spare me some of your time. I’m conducting research as part of my Masters in Coaching at Cambridge University exploring how coaching impacts HR professionals' resilience in today’s challenging workplace landscape. As you know over the past five years, HR teams have navigated crises like Brexit, COVID-19, the cost of living crisis, and the evolving world of work—facing unprecedented pressures.

What the Study Will Explore:

How HR professionals perceive the role of coaching in strengthening their resilience.
Coaching strategies that have proven effective—and how they can be applied in real-world HR settings.

Who Can Participate?

I’m looking to connect with mid-level to senior HR professionals across sectors (excluding military, healthcare, and education) who:
- Have experienced coaching within the last two years (any modality).
- Are willing to share their insights through a 45-60 minute confidential interview conducted via Zoom or Teams.

Why Participate?
Your insights will:
White check mark Contribute to academic and practical knowledge on coaching in HR.
White check mark Help shape better coaching practices tailored to the needs of HR professionals.
White check mark Provide valuable reflections on your own resilience journey.

    Hi

I've moved your post here > Our Profession

Some interesting themes have been discussed on that forum, which I think may inform your research.

  • - Have experienced coaching within the last two years (any modality).

Would it not also be useful to have a control/null group that has no experience coaching in order to establish whether coaching is statistically significant in resilience outcomes?

Also, for the purposes of identifying whether community members are eligible for inclusion in the study, it might be helpful to provide a definition for what you consider to constitute coaching and coaching strategies.
