Welcome to the Research Participation Forum - please read before posting

We have launched this dedicated space to provide a forum for members undertaking professional studies to connect with the community and seek participants for their research.

Before You Post
To help ensure that all research shared within the community is conducted ethically, members must provide evidence of ethical approval to the Community Team before posting.

Please send your documentation to communitymanagementteam@cipd.co.uk

Once the approval has been reviewed and confirmed by the Community Moderation Team, you may post your participant recruitment request in this space.

We recommend titling your post "Research Survey:" followed by the title of your research topic. This makes it easier for members with a relevant interest to identify and find your survey, helping to increase visibility and, ultimately, participation in your research.

Please Note
This space is not intended to be used for:

  • Research conducted on behalf of an employer or organisation.
  • Commercial, marketing, sales or product-related research.
  • Activities that may result in financial, business or promotional gain.

Community Guidelines
As this is an open forum, we ask all members to continue following our Community Guidelines when posting.

Please do not share personal email addresses, telephone numbers, or other personal contact details. Researchers should clearly explain the purpose of their study, participation requirements, and any relevant information within their post.

Any posts that do not meet these requirements, or that have not received prior approval from the Community Moderation Team, will be removed.

We look forward to supporting members with their professional learning while maintaining a safe and trusted community environment.

Any questions at all, get in touch with the Community Team.

  • As an academic, can I clarify this further 'We look forward to supporting members in their academic and professional learning' - is this board therefore for members who are undertaking CIPD or other relevant qualifications (learning), or is it for academics who research HR related topics, or both?

  • Hi Gemma,

Thank you for highlighting this. That's a really good point and a great spot. The final paragraph shouldn't refer to "academic", I appreciate this confuses things, I'll get that amended.

This space is intended for members undertaking research as part of their CIPD studies or other professional qualifications, rather than those carrying out academic research projects.

We do have a separate Academic Forum for CIPD Academic Members and members that are researchers, and involved in teaching CIPD qualifications. It was created as a space to share ideas, ask questions, build connections, and grow academic networks. It's also open to members with a particular interest in research, publications, and collaborating with academics to increase research impact.

The forum was launched over a year ago but hasn't seen the level of engagement we had hoped for, so it's currently under review. In the meantime, we're maintaining a list of members who would like to be involved and will provide updates once we've decided on the next steps. I'd be very happy to add you to that list if you'd like to be included.

For now, we'd still be very happy for you to share your research request in the Research Participation space, subject to providing evidence of the appropriate approval if this will enable you to reach a broad audience of HR and people professionals across the community.

    Let us know.
