Looking for CV Advice

Hello,

I have work experience of around 5+ yrs. I have worked in HR for more than 4 yrs in India. I moved to UK with my husband in 2013. I was pursuing Post Graduate Diploma in HRM through distance learning from an Indian University at that time.

After I moved to UK I was unable to find a role in HR. Hence, after I completed the course, I have worked in different admin roles while still trying to get into HR.

How can I justify the break period on my CV? How can I project in my CV that my experience in admin and the skills that I acquired are transferable? Would it be beneficial to me if I had a functional CV than a chronological CV?

Thank you and warm regards,

Vinutha Bhat

    Hi Vinutha,

How can I justify the break period on my CV? How can I project in my CV that my experience in admin and the skills that I acquired are transferable?

You may or may not have seen Matthew's thread last week in which he asked almost identical questions.

For context, I'm also linking to your thread from last week about finding first HR role in UK.

    Welcome to the Community :)
