A year ago I relocated my family to the states as my husband had a new role. I knew the visa restrictions meant I would be unable to work for a period of time, and so opted to start an MBA, as I had already gained my chartered status prior to leaving the UK. I am now half way through my MBA.
Sadly, my green card seems to be taking longer and longer. It looks like I will be unable to work for another 18-24 months.
I have kept myself incredibly busy with volunteering work in the community, studying and just getting stuck into our new life, but feel I would benefit from a more structured plan, and possibly a mentor.
We relocated with no support from my husband's employer, other than a pot of money, so I don't have any resources that large relocation organisations normally provide.
I would be incredibly grateful for any experiences of getting sane and motivated during a career break, and recommendations of books or forums, any USA based organisations worth connecting with ...in fact I would be grateful for anything!
