CV layout

Hello Everyone, Is there considered to be a particular format for senior HR CVs? Are personal statements still relevant or is listing achievements preferred? Any advice would be appreciated as it has been a while since I have had to update my CV. Thank you Omar

  • Small point, but a pet hate… I would also say not to bother listing ‘Hobbies and activities’ at the end of a CV.

If I had a £ for every person whose CV said they liked “swimming, reading and socialising with friends/family”, I would currently be retired in the Maldives.

I do like to find out about what interests people outside of work - but usually at interview stage, when we can actually chat about it!
  • The only disagreement I would have is if you do something unusual or unique - then I would put it down as it may make you stand out!
