Level 5, Unit 1 - Developing Professional Practice

Hi

I was wondering if anyone has recently completed the above until and are able to help me?

I'm after a bit of advise and guidance on how my submission should actually look - I'm struggling to get my head round it and any examples of work able to share with me would be so helpful.

I'm studying with ICS.

    Dear Stacey, this sounds as a good advice and really easy to follow.Is it enough in terms that a student is not expected more than simply write as summarized...I am just starting with DVP and a bit confused, trying to see am I on the right track at all...

    Have you now submitted your formative? I’m currently underway with it now but I’m finding I’m way under word count and ran out of context. I have covered a few references and made comment on my thoughts but thinking should I relate them to personal examples? I’m not even sure if you can on a report format

    Any advice would be great!

    I am currently studying my level 5 and on the module: business issues and the contexts of human resources 5CHR. I am at a standstill and have looked at a few resources but to no avail. Is there anything you can point out to assit me further. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

    Hope you are well.
    I know its been a while, I have been extremely busy with full time shift work, family, etc and I some how tried to write up my first assignment DVP01, I sent this to my tutor and I was told, all is going good, just need to cut down on my words. Then I got in touch with one of the Associate CIPD member for some feedback about my assessment and I was advised by them that my assignment is more of theory and no real life examples. I was advised by the fellow member to cut down lot of theory and write more examples. I am confused, because when I sent to my tutor he mentioned all is good to go.

    Also, I have few questions if you anyone could answer:
    1. Referencing to CIPD Map, I have to pick 3 elements, break down each element and band - are the elements the outer circle in the map? the 8 behaviours, and breaking down each element - is it the 10 professional areas?
    2. Task 2 - Conflict resolution 1 & 2, should i give an example
    3. Task 3 - Problem solving skills 1 & 2, Persuading, negotiating and Influencing - all examples required?

    I am doing my CIPD from ICS Learn, if you are doing it with them, there are online presentations you can view. These presentations give you step by step guide on what is required out of an assignment. May be attending an online or viewing a past recordings can help?

    Congratulations on completing level 5. I'm on my last unit and its on Employee Engagement - I'm finding this a bit tricky due to the wording of what the report briefing is asking.
    1.1 an analysis of the meaning, principal dimensions and components of employee engagement and how it differs, if at all, from related concepts such as organisational commitment, employer involvement, job satisfaction
    I understand each of these but its composing each answer so that I'm not just listing each part.
    I have given different definitions and stated that each vary. I noted the dimensions - affective, normative and continuance commitment. Do I need to mention anything else?

    I have talked about the components of EE such as clarity of job role, career advancement etc I'm not sure how to then link in with Org Commitment, employer involvement and job satisfaction.

    Sorry its so long winded, I'm getting anxious about it plus its my last unit and I don't want a defer. Any help would be great

    Thanks for coming back to me. I am studying with ICS so I will have a look, although I am not finding it easy to navigate their site. I'm sure I will be ok once I manage to get started properly - it is the referencing that I am finding challenging.

    I have been away on business and then on holiday. I hope you have resolved your queries but if not here goes.
    1. We are encouraging people to look at the new Profession Map ICS may view this differently so please contact them.
    2. Conflict resolution it is always good to quote the theoretical models and then reflect on how you have or have not applied them. It is always good to reflect on your current practices so that you have a chance to improve.
    3. Yes, if you think about this we are doing this all the time.

    I am in exactly the same boat, and cant seem to get down on paper what I want to without overthinking what it is I should be doing or finding more information than I actually need and being overwhelmed but it all.
    Maybe we could support each other through as I am also studying through ICS

    Hi Becca,
    Just a quick reminder that your tutor will be happy to assist you with any questions that you have.
    If you look in the, ‘Unit Forums and Webinars’ tile in the student community you will see that there is a live Online class for 5DVP once a week.
    The next class is on the 16/09/2019 at 7 pm and this runs for one hour.
    If you cannot make the scheduled class, you can watch the recording whenever you have the time.
